Abstract
The article is dedicated to the consideration of the artistic image and the figurative system. In this, the images of the novel «The Aviator» by Evgeny Vodolazkin are studied in detail. In addition, the author focuses on the classification of images of the novel highlighting two types – images of heroes and images-symbols. This study is conducted to understand the specifics of the novel and specifically to analyse the past of the protagonist.
