Abstract
The article examines the concept of emotional intelligence and its importance in the context of modern education. The article analyzes methodological techniques aimed at developing students' emotional sensitivity, as well as strategies for integrating emotional intelligence into the process of teaching literature. Using the example of Nina Dashevskaya's short story "The House above the Sea", the methodological possibilities of developing empathy, self-reflection and emotional response among students are analyzed. Various forms of creative tasks aimed at forming emotional perception and interpretation of the text are considered, as well as an analysis of student work as a tool for diagnosing the emotional response of schoolchildren.
