Abstract

The article analyzes the images of Philip II of Macedon in ancient and modern historiography. It examines the main approaches to interpreting his personality and activities, starting with ancient authors (Diodorus Siculus, Plutarch, Justin) and ending with contemporary research. Special attention is paid to the evolution of perceptions of Philip II as a politician, military leader, and reformer. The work also explores the reasons for the formation of different images of Philip II and their impact on historical science.
