Abstract
The article explores how the genre of the biographical reference about a writer has changed in the transition from paper publications to digital platforms and cultural and educational media. Analyzing references from the websites “Culture.RF”, Arzamas, “Literary Map of Russia” and the Virtual Museum of Writers of the Southern Urals, it can be seen that the genre has become more diverse, the visual and graphic elements have been strengthened, and the structure has become more interactive. Special attention is paid to the new functions of the reference: informing, popularization and contextualization. At the end of the article, the author suggests improvements for regional digital resources.
