Abstract
The article examines the poetic understanding of the urban space of Chelyabinsk in the works of the contemporary Ural poet Janis Grants. It analyzes the ways of representing the city, identifies the main motives and images associated with the urban landscape. Particular attention is paid to the use of the poetics of the absurd and surreal imagery to create a mythological representation of Chelyabinsk as an existential-chthonic chaos. The role of personal experience, geobiographical realities and the chronotope of the city in the formation of the local Chelyabinsk myth is emphasized.
