Abstract
The article examines the functions of lexical and stylistic means in D. Urushev's book «Two Brothers». The role of stylistically marked vocabulary in creating a historical context, speech characteristics of characters, and comic effects is analyzed. It is shown that their polyphonic combination forms a unique author's style, embodying the idea of searching for faith through the synthesis of fairy tale form, historical references, and critical rethinking.
