Abstract
The article examines the relationship between teachers and students in A. Ivanov's novel "The Geographer drank the Globe" and their artistic interpretation. Special attention is paid to the shocking teaching methods of Viktor Sluzhkin, a geography teacher without a pedagogical education. With the help of a provocative style, he manages to show students the importance of moral values, the importance of being a human being in the first place.
