Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the category of politeness in institutional Internet discourse based on a corpus of dialogues between professors and students. The research is aimed at identifying the most frequent formulas of politeness depending on the status of communicants in the academic environment. The article examines the specifics of communication both between students and between professors and students online. The results of the study allow us to better understand the role of politeness in communication and its impact on the effectiveness of communication in an educational environment.
