Abstract
The article is devoted to the process of foundation and building the hockey team Traktor in Chelyabinsk. The stage of organisation of the ice-hockey team within the framework of Voluntary Sport Society «Dzerzhinets», the basis of which was made by the sportsmen from the plant-football and Russian hockey players, is considered in the article. Official information about the foundation of the team and its victory in the first season of the USSR Championship 1947–1948 (the second group) is presented in the article. Insufficiency of archive data defined the main information base of the work – the memories of the direct participants of the events and its objective – to reconstruct the initial stage of the history of the team.
