Graphic Techniques in the Poem by M. Y. Lermontov «The Prisoner of the Caucasus»

Abstract

This article discusses the graphic appearance of the poem by M. Y. Lermontov «The Prisoner of the Caucasus». In the course of the study it turned, out that the poet uses such graphic techniques as the graphic equivalent of text, italics and «ladder», which perform different compositional and psychological functions. All the graphic means in the poem not only expanded its visual expressive capabilities, but also turned out to be closely interconnected with the plot-compositional organization of the text.
